Benefits
It's Christmas all year round!
Butcher's broom helps combat bags and dark circles, has an anti-reddening, protective and soothing action.
Things
It is an evergreen plant typical of the Mediterranean regions, which grows spontaneously on dry and sunny slopes. The main active ingredient is ruscogenin, obtained from the rhizome, and traditionally used for the treatment of capillary fragility and for its action to reduce excess liquids.
Curiosity
Butcher's broom has always been a plant used for its protective action, albeit in different ways.
The other name by which the butcher's broom is known, namely Butcher's Broom, derives from the fact that in ancient times it was used to protect foodstuffs from the raids of mice. Even before, at the time of the ancient Romans, it was planted around the house to protect it from evil spirits.
The toasted seeds were used as a coffee substitute, while the sprouts, with a similar flavor to asparagus but more bitter, are still used today in cooking
